Representative of the Kingdom
The Bible does not explicitly lay out the membership criteria or qualifications for being a representative of the Kingdom of God. However, there are a few qualities that are mentioned in the Bible that would be essential for anyone who wants to be a true representative of God's kingdom.
Love: Jesus said that the greatest commandment is to love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:37-39). This is a foundational quality for anyone who wants to be a representative of God's love and compassion.
Humility: Jesus also said that those who are humble will be exalted (Matthew 23:12). A true representative of God's kingdom will be humble and willing to serve others, not seeking their own glory.
Obedience: Jesus said that his followers should obey his commands (John 14:15). This means being willing to follow God's will, even when it is difficult.
Wisdom: A true representative of God's kingdom will be wise and discerning, able to distinguish between right and wrong.
Courage: A true representative of God's kingdom will be courageous, standing up for what is right even when it is unpopular.
In addition to these qualities, a true representative of God's kingdom will also be characterized by a genuine love for God and others, a commitment to living a holy life, and a desire to share the good news of the gospel with others.
Ultimately, whether or not someone is a true representative of God's kingdom is up to God to decide. However, by striving to develop these qualities, we can increase our chances of being used by God to bring his kingdom to earth.
